Jason Goodwin’s ‘Possible Worlds’ Unveiled in Translation (Studies)

The books with a specific cultural theme written in foreign language stand out as remarkable type of texts terms Translation Studies. In such books, description native culture reflects features similar to translation, and it is called ‘foreign creation,’ the product translation process ongoing writer’s mind. While these seem be into language, their back represents ‘back translation’ sense without physically existing ultimate source text, other words ‘textless translation.’ Within this context, present study deals English author Jason Goodwin’s Ottoman-themed titled Lords Horizons: A History Ottoman Empire ([1998] 2000), Janissary Tree (2006a), Snake Stone ([2007] 2008) creations’ Turkish translations translations.’ Drawing on portrayal available many passages, are approached from perspective ‘orientalism’ distinction between ‘history’ ‘fiction’ first place. focal points offer better understanding interpreting ‘orientalist’ marks ‘possible worlds’ texts, an analysis methods used by writer his translators translations’ provides useful insight reasons effects certain decisions.
